Grinduro has become synonymous for its “perfect party to race ratio” with the emphasis being on party! The world wide purple party has been going now for 10 years! So they must be doing something right. After a short hiatus the brand is returning to Scotland to mark this anniversary with its newest event being held in the small Highland town of Kingussie between 18th and 20th July.
“Grinduro has always been a destination event, promoting the unique regional identity of its locations” James Deane Grinduro Global

“Grinduro has always been a destination event, promoting the unique regional identity of its locations and encouraging riders to consider staying not only for the event weekend, but stretching out their travel plans to explore further.” Explains James Deane, of Grinduro Global. “Because of this, we’ve always looked to host Grinduro in ‘out-there’ places rather than well-ridden spots on the cycling map”
This years event in Scotland promisses to do just that with 100km of riding through pine forest and rolling countryside. You can expect single track, dirt roads, fire roads, and as is the norm with Grinduro there will be 4 timed sections where you can go all out before settling back into party pace in between.

Attendees of the Scottish event can expect to see a the usual Grinduro bicycle expo infused with a celebration of Highland culture and creativity “imagine if a bike show and the Highland Games mistakenly double-booked the same venue” commented Deane.

It is not just Scotland on offer in 2025. For those that might fancy a sunnier destination more famed for wine than it’s whiskey then Grinduro Italy could be for you. Taking place between 13th and 15th June in the stunning Tuscany region the event offers stunning vistas, dusty roads and of course the same enduro format found at all Grinduro events.

Grinduro first landed in California back in 2015 and set an immediate benchmark for what the future of gravel events could be. Rather than being solely a race, Grinduro set itself apart from rivals by being a combination of race and party over 3 days. The initial event proved to be hugely popular and has now grown into a world series.
Entries for Grinduro Scotland and Italy are now open alongside the Japan and South African events. Grinduro California opens registration on March 26.
